U-M Regents approve new HD video boards for Big House, Crisler and Yost

ANN ARBOR, Mich.—The University of Michigan Board of Regents voted Thursday (Jan. 20) to install new high definition (HD) video scoreboards at Michigan Stadium, Crisler Arena and Yost Ice Arena. The boards will be installed at each venue prior to the 2011-12 season.

University of Michigan Goes Smoke-Free July 1

ANN ARBOR, Mich.—University of Michigan President Mary Sue Coleman has approved the final report on implementation of the new smoke-free policy that goes into effect July 1.

Team Michigan wins MAGIC 2010

Team Michigan, consisting of the University of Michigan and SoarTech, took first place in the Multi Autonomous Ground-robotic International Challenge (MAGIC) 2010.

Nanoemulsion Kills Highly Resistant Bacteria Found in Patients with Cystic Fibrosis

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Jan. 29, 2009) – Scientists at NanoBio Corp. and the University of Michigan have demonstrated in the laboratory that their novel topical nanoemulsion kills the highly resistant strains of bacteria that cause chronic illness and death among individuals with cystic fibrosis.

U-M to Buy Pfizer’s Former Ann Arbor Property

ANN ARBOR, Mich.-In a move that will directly create at least 2,000 jobs during the next decade and accelerate expansion of the University of Michigan’s research activities critical to the state’s economic development, the U-M Board of Regents today approved the purchase of the Ann Arbor property of pharmaceutical firm Pfizer Inc.

In time, U-M anticipates replacing-and even exceeding-the number of high-quality jobs once located at the site.
