The seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate in Ann Arbor inched up to 5 percent in February from 4.8 percent in January.
Job gains in Washtenaw County were seen mostly in the government sector, where 3,400 jobs were added - mostly at public schools and universities.
Typically, the sector gains about 3,000 jobs locally in February each year.
