Katherine Franz has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the North American Service Division, GE - Transportation.  Katerine will be based in Detroit, Michigan area.  GE - Transportation is a global technology leader and supplier to the railroad, marine, drilling, wind, and mining industries.  GE provides freight and passenger locomotives, railway signaling and communications systems, information technology solutions, marine engines, motorized drive systems for mining trucks and drills, and other services. 

With sales in excess of $4.5 billion, GE - Transportation is headquartered in Erie, PA, and employs approximately 10,000 people worldwide.  A 24 year auto industry verteran, Katherine held leadership roles at Ford Motor Company and General Motors Corporation.
